Top 5 Favorite Books

So as I type this I am aware that this page will be changing continuously. I think. But I'm pretty sure I have a solid top five that are steady... We'll just have to see, won't we! As you'll see, my tastes are wide ranging and non-prejudiced. The only thing I ask of a book is to have a bit of romance. And really, shouldn't life always have a bit of romance?

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitsgerald
Perhaps my favorite book of all time. I love his poetic writing that borders on whimsical. The story is classic and oh so beautifully sad. The imagery is to die for. If you've never read this, go out and do it now!
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
This is such a wonderful story and the characterization is so well thought out and plotted. The ultimate love story that for me will never grow old. And of course, we all know I'm a sucker for the bad guy turned good -- Mr. Rochester is the original!
The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot
Probably my first journey into paranormal YA, I picked up this series when I was in middle school. Back then, Meg Cabot wasn't well known and the series was actually published under her pen name of Jenny Carroll. I looked everywhere for the original covers (which I own), but I couldn't find them anywhere online! Needless to say, this fun paranormal-y romance action series captured my heart and made me a Cabot lover for life!
A Ring of Endless Light by Madeline L'Engle
This book was perhaps my first foray into the obsession that is reading which overtook me in fourth grade. L'Engle weaves an incredibly touching story that I connected with immediately and honestly this book might have been the first inspiration I had to write. It's real and heartfelt and maintains a subtle touch of magic.
Until You by Judith McNaught
This book is my absolute favorite romance novel. Ever. The dribbled you find these days on romance shelves can't compare with this book. With any of McNaught's books, really, but this one stands out above the rest. It's terribly romantic and funny and all together butterfly inducing. Looking for a read that will make you scream at the page one second and soar higher than a cloud the next? This is your choice!
